He was in the Army during W.W.II between March 2, 1942 to November 16, 1945 was a member of the 90th Division 359th Infantry. 20 months in Europe. Battle and campaigns D-Day+2 in Utah Beach, Normandy, Northern France, and Rhinelamd. Retired from the United States Postal Service on May 19, 1978. After 37 years of service to the Government of the United States. President of the 90th Infantry Division Association in 1970. Member of the Disabled American Veterans chapel 31 Dallas for 58 years. Survived by son; Jack Walker and Harlan Walker; grandchildren; Steve Walker, Joan Roberts, Ben Walker, Patricia Walker, Carey Walker; 8 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren. Services will be Monday October 18, 2004 at 12:00 P.M. at Laurel Land Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be from 10:00 - 11:30 prior to the service.
